Read this article post your interview on the Substack Bill Bishop's podcast. Found your analysis of AGI "American style" competing against AGI "China style" and how it plays out in the world economy moving forward and how this could be stalled as both countries stubbornly balk on taking the cooperatation route was a fascinating read and listen to. The discussion of "they need us and we need them", at least in the present and near future, pull and push dynamic I found very poignant . How AGI plays out without the cooperation of these 2 powers could lead to further tension in the world at large. All this tension everywhere is leading us toward a future that looks very dim....it could ultimately lead to all the lights going out. So much drama. It's like watching a dystopia soap tv show but it's REAL!

“China is…. more focused instead on wiring intelligence into the physical economy at scale.”

“China’s approach of having a plan, backed up by a set of incentives and sanctions, to ensure the rapid diffusion and integration of AI across the whole of the industrial sector.”

The real question here is what does a future where China has build a global sense-making tool that monitors every country for compliance and governs global policy look like? That scenario seems to be what they’re aiming for.
